Mohammad Asghar AM praises school radio station on visit to Abercarn Primary

Mohammad Asghar AM has praised the work of a school radio station on a visit to Abercarn Primary today.

Abercarn Primary has run its own radio station for two years, broadcasting to the school’s 262 pupils..

During the visit Mr Asghar was interviewed by two of the pupils known as “DJ D” and “DJ J” who asked him about his work as a Member of the National Assembly.

Mohammad Asghar said:

“I would like to thank the Head Teacher, Gareth Roden, and ICT Manager, Luke Greenslade, for hosting such an interesting and enjoyable visit.”

“I was very impressed by the studio and by the professionalism of the children who obviously enjoyed being DJs. It really is a great way of boosting pupils’ confidence and communication skills.”

“I wish them luck in their next project which is to expand into television.”
