Asghar congratulates winner of his Christmas card competition

Local Assembly Member Mohammad Asghar has visited Glan Usk Primary School to congratulate and award prizes to the winner and runners-up of his Christmas card design competition.

The winner was 8 year old Sienna Georgiou.

Asghar concerned by increase in fly-tipping

Mohammad Asghar AM today expressed his concern about the alarming increase in fly-tipping in parts of his South East Wales region.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Mohammad Asghar said;

“Last year saw a six per cent increase in fly-tipping across Wales.”

Mohammad Asghar AM welcomes cut in Severn Bridge tolls

Local Assembly member Mohammad Asghar has welcomed news that tolls on the Severn Bridge crossings are to be cut.

From January next year Cars will pay £5.60 instead of £6.70. Small buses or vans will pay £11.20, down from £13.40. Lorries and coaches will pay £16.70 instead of £20.

Newport firm calls in the administrators after flood

Newport firm Coilcolor will today call in the administrators, with 50 employees being made redundant.

It follows a flood in November 2016, which caused £3.7m in damage to machinery, and lost work.
