Wednesday, 22 April, 2020

Local Assembly Member, Mohammad Asghar, has urged Muslims to stay home and stay safe over Ramadan.

Mohammad Asghar said:

“Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus crisis, this is a Ramadan like no other.”

“It is vitally important that Muslims maintain social distancing during Ramadan, avoid meeting people and visiting the homes of friends and neighbours.”

“I would encourage all Imams to make use of social media, such as Facebook Live and Instagram Live, to live stream their sermons so they can continue to engage with the Muslim community during this difficult time.”

“I hope everyone stays home, stays safe and enjoys a happy and peaceful Ramadan.”
