Mohammad Asghar AM, Assembly Member for South East Wales, has called for a statement from the Welsh Government on the links between poor housing and poor physical and mental health.
This follows the findings of a joint report by Public Health Wales, Community Housing Cymru and the Building Research Establishment which states that poor quality housing costs the NHS in Wales more than £95 million pounds a year in treatment costs.
Mr Asghar said:
“I am very concerned at the findings of this report.”
“I am calling on the Welsh Government for a statement detailing what action they intend to take to improve the quality of existing homes Wales.”
