Asghar congratulates winner of his Design A Christmas Card Competition

Mohammad Asghar. Assembly Member for South East Wales, today visited St David’s R C Primary School in Newport to congratulate and award a prize to the winner of his annual “Design A Christmas Card” competition.

Asghar calls for Repeal of Vagrancy Act

Mohammad Asghar. Assembly Member for South East Wales, has called on the Welsh Government to support moves to repeal the Vagrancy Act.

 

This Act is still used to this day, with anyone who is seen begging living on the streets liable for arrest.

 

Asghar raises concerns about tree planting targets

Mohammad Asghar, Assembly Member for South East Wales, has questioned whether the Welsh Government is on track to meet its target for planting trees in Wales.

Mohammad Asghar, Assembly Member for South East Wales, has written to Caerphilly Council to object to plans to convert outbuildings into seven residential units.

 

Mr Asghar said:

Asghar raises car parking charges at Tredegar Park

Mohammad Asghar, Assembly Member for South East Wales, has asked for a statement from the Minister for Housing and Local Government on what guidelines are issued to local authorities in Wales regarding car parking charges.

Mohammad Asghar, Assembly Member for South East Wales, has called on the Education Minister to make a statement on school examination results in Wales.

 

This follows concerns raised by ESTYN that schools may be nor progressing pupils to improve exam data.
